Custom alignment of brothers and sisters

#1 Post by 1morechill »

Hi dear Agelong Tree team,

I have noticed that brothers and sisters are left-aligned based on their birth dates, this is great, but this doesn't work when these dates are unknown ?

This situation happens a lot in my family when a relative knows about the birth order of other people but doesn't know about their birth dates. One solution could be to implement a custom ID/increment (e.g. 1, 2, 3 ...) for left-based alignment purpose, prevailing on birth dates order, when provided.

Many thanks and best regards.

Thank you for your question.

If you know the birth order, you need to put the children's "birth" events in the chronological order in their parents' information. So the mother's event list should look like this, for example:
Born.
Married to John.
Had a son 1.
Had a son 2.
Had a son 3.
Or daughter, it doesn't matter. The order of the "Birth" events is understood by the program as the birth order, so sons are placed according to this order.

The father's event list should have the same order of "birth" events.

I mean this window (person's edit box):
